Pacific Region

Pacific Region

We maintain three facilities in California -- one in northern California (San Francisco) and two in southern California (Laguna Niguel and Riverside).  These offices work together to preserve and make available the documents created by Federal agencies in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Guam, the Pacific Trust Territory, and American Samoa.

San Francisco (San Bruno), CA

Located in the Leo J. Ryan Federal Building near San Francisco International Airport, NARA's Northern California facility is a dual use archives and records storage facility. NARA's Pacific Region, San Francisco is an integral part of the Bay Area's network of world class public historical research centers and cultural institutions - universities, libraries, archives, and museums.

Laguna Niguel, CA

The facility is in Laguna Niguel, 65 miles south of Los Angeles and 70 miles north of San Diego. Located in the Chet Holifield Federal Building, the Laguna Niguel facility is a research center for genealogical, local, and national historical records. NARA's Pacific Region, Laguna Niguel is home to approximately 35,000 cubic feet of Federal records documenting the history of Southern California, Arizona, and Clark County, Nevada.

Riverside, CA

Located in Perris, California. Our newest state of the art records storage facility is approximately 70 miles east of Los Angeles. Please note that there are no genealogical or historical research facilities available at this location.
